Your permit decision shows whether the permit is limited to a specific employer and profession or only to a profession. A new employer, profession or substantially changed duties may require a new application. If you apply in time, current rules can allow work for the new employer before a decision.

When a new application may be required
Migrationsverket states that a new employer, a new profession or completely new responsibilities can require a new work permit. A changed company registration number also counts as a change of employer on the agency's current guidance.
Starting the new job
The agency states that once the required new application has been submitted, work for the new employer or in the new profession can begin before a decision, provided the application was made before the previous permit expired. Check your own case against the source.
If the old employment ends
You can remain to look for a new job for up to three months after the last working day only while the existing permit remains valid. If the permit expires sooner, the valid period is shorter. A new job may still require a new application.
